QuickPwn - Firmware 2.2
You must already be on a clean version of 2.2 before proceeding. If you are on a 2.0 version, you can simply update on iTunes. If you are not, download the Firmware 2.2 (iPod1,1_2.2_5G77_Restore.ipsw) HERE. Select iPod Touch 1G (2.2/5G77) from the iPhone / iPod touch dropdown. After downloading, open iTunes and connect your iPod Touch. Make sure your songs/content is backed up.
• Select your device on iTunes.
• Hold Shift + click Restore.
• Select the downloaded 2.2 Firmware, and wait for it to install.
To get the required QuickPwn for the 2.2 JailBreak, download it from HERE or HERE.
Extract QuickPwn.exe into a folder, and double click “QuickPwn22-1.exe”.
Connect your iPod Touch to your computer using the sync cable, and click the blue arrow.
QuickPwn will then search for the 2.2 Firmware (iPod1,1_2.2_5G77_Restore.ipsw). The default location (if you upgraded from iTunes) will be in
C:\Documents and Settings\100314579\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates\iPod1,1_2.2_5G77_Restore.ipsw
If QuickPwn cannot locate the 2.2 Firmware, click Browse and locate the downloaded one you placed in the QuickPwn folder.
When it has found the correct file, a green checkmark will appear on the iPod Touch picture, and the arrow will turn blue. Click the arrow.
Here you must select Cydia and Installer. You can also choose to replace the boot logo. (Instead of the apple logo showing up when you turn on your iPod Touch, a pineapple will appear.) Click the blue arrow.
Make sure your iPod Touch is still connected to your computer with the sync cable.
Using your iPod Touch, follow the steps above in order. You must follow each step according to the time counting down. Don't worry if you make a mistake, because you can try again.
If you followed the steps correctly in order, QuickPwn will begin to prepare your iPod Touch for the Jailbreak. In less than a minute or two it will let you know when the process has completed.
The Jailbreak is complete, and your iPod Touch will begin to reboot. You will see a pineapple icon on your ipod as the last steps complete, than your iPod Touch will go to the normal lock screen.
Congratulations! You’ve just Jailbroken your iPod Touch!
*If this method of Jailbreaking did not work, try the WinPwn method.
